APC ACCUSES ATIKU OF POLITICISING EBOLA OUTBREAK
October 23, 2026
The APC Presidential Campaign Council has accused former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of politicising Nigeria’s Ebola outbreak following his demand for accountability over the ₦10 billion approved for emergency preparedness.
The council’s spokesperson, Dele Alake, claimed the fund remained untouched, saying health agencies had relied on other available resources to manage surveillance and response efforts.
Atiku had called on the Federal Government to disclose how the money was disbursed and spent, raising concerns about disease surveillance and the protection of healthcare workers.
The APC council urged opposition figures to support health authorities in managing the outbreak. However, its claim that the fund remained unspent was not accompanied by detailed financial records.
