EKITI DECLARES MONDAY WORK-FREE DAY FOR TEACHERS
October 04, 2026
The Ekiti State Government has declared Monday a work-free day for teachers across the state as part of activities to commemorate this year’s World Teachers’ Day.
The government said the declaration was in recognition of the important role teachers play in the development of education and the overall growth of society.
It added that the work-free day would give teachers the opportunity to participate in activities marking the annual celebration and reflect on their contributions to the education sector.
The state government described teachers as key to shaping the future of young people through teaching, mentoring and character development.
Teachers are expected to return to their normal duties after the declared holiday.
