The Federal Government has backed the launch of a 100-Day Tourism Calendar aimed at bringing together Nigeria’s festivals, concerts, cultural events and lifestyle experiences on a single digital platform.

The initiative is part of efforts to unlock the projected $100 billion potential of Nigeria’s tourism and creative economy.

The calendar, powered by MyCityApp and MyLagosApp, was unveiled at the Ember2Remember National Stakeholders’ Conference in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The development was disclosed by Dr. Nneka Anibeze, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa.

The initiative is designed to maximise the economic opportunities associated with the September-to-December festive season by connecting tourists, Nigerians in the diaspora and local consumers with events and tourism experiences across the country.

Through the digital platform, users will be able to discover and engage with a wide range of festivals, concerts, cultural activities and lifestyle experiences taking place across different parts of Nigeria.

The Federal Government said the initiative would support greater visibility for Nigeria’s tourism and creative offerings while helping to strengthen participation in the sector.
