ADELEKE DEFENDS RECORD, AS OSUN GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES MAKE FINAL PITCHES TO VOTERS

August 12, 2026

Osun State Governor and Accord governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has defended the performance of his administration, saying the state has been transformed from a financially distressed government into one capable of meeting its obligations to workers, pensioners and residents.

Adeleke made the remarks on Tuesday during a town hall meeting organised by Arise Television in Osogbo, where the leading candidates in Saturday’s governorship election presented their final pitches to voters.

The governor, who is seeking re-election for a second term, highlighted his administration’s achievements over the past three-and-a-half years, particularly in road construction, healthcare, infrastructure and social programmes.

He said his government had also improved the state’s financial position while implementing major projects aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of residents.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, also used the town hall to outline their plans and policy priorities for Osun State.

The three candidates addressed key issues including the state’s economy, security, infrastructure, healthcare and overall development, while seeking to convince voters ahead of Saturday’s election.

The candidates also highlighted their respective strategies for addressing the challenges facing the state and improving governance if elected.
