ATIKU: TINUBU’S ERA IS ENDING, NIGERIANS READY TO RECLAIM THEIR COUNTRY
May 30, 2026
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is nearing its end, saying Nigerians are preparing to “reclaim their country” through the ballot. In a strongly worded statement marking the government’s third anniversary, he said the era of propaganda, complacency, and excuses in governance was coming to a close, while insisting that citizens are now more politically aware and ready to demand accountability.
Atiku criticised the Tinubu administration over rising economic hardship, insecurity, inflation, and alleged reckless borrowing, arguing that campaign promises of “renewed hope” have instead translated into deeper poverty and hardship for Nigerians. He also questioned infrastructure spending priorities and alleged mismanagement of public funds, while pledging that his political platform would soon unveil a comprehensive policy plan covering economic recovery, security reform, job creation, and improved governance.
