DAVIDO: FRIENDSHIP WITH SEYI TINUBU WON’T STOP ME FROM SPEAKING OUT
June 02, 2026
Afrobeats star Davido has responded to criticism over his recent comments on Nigeria’s insecurity and perceived injustice, saying his friendship with Seyi Tinubu does not prevent him from speaking on national issues.
The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, had earlier stirred reactions after admitting that entertainers, including himself, have not done enough to speak up on challenges affecting ordinary Nigerians.
He maintained that his remarks were not politically driven but a reflection on the broader responsibility of public figures to engage with pressing social issues in the country.
