June 16, 2026

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State, local government workers have pledged to deliver at least 200,000 votes for Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election. Speaking at a mega rally in Ado-Ekiti, NULGE President Oluseyi Olatunde commended the governor for improving workers’ welfare and strengthening local government administration.

Olatunde said Oyebanji’s appointment of local government staff to key leadership positions, including Permanent Secretaries, has boosted morale and created new opportunities for career growth. He added that the governor’s reforms have restored confidence and efficiency within the local government service.

In response, Governor Oyebanji thanked the workers for their support and promised to build on the achievements of his first term. He assured them of continued commitment to local government development and urged them to remain united ahead of the election.
