August 28, 2026
The Ekiti State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for August will take place on Saturday, August 29, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. across all Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in the state.
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti.
The exercise is themed “Clean Environment, Healthy Air: Say No to Obnoxious Odour,” with emphasis on proper waste disposal and responsible environmental practices to prevent offensive odours and protect public health.
The commissioner urged residents across the state to actively participate by cleaning their surroundings, drains and designated waste disposal areas.
She stressed the importance of maintaining a clean environment and encouraged residents to adopt responsible waste management practices beyond the monthly sanitation exercise.
