March 20, 2026
Urges them to adhere to lessons learnt during Ramadan
Former Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly and member representing Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency II, Rt. Hon. Hakeem Jamiu has sent a goodwill message to the Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year's Eid-el-Fitr which marks the end of the Ramadan fast.
He admonished them to always emulate the good examples of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) and follow his teachings especially as it concerns the Ramadan fasting. Jamiu noted that the period of Ramadan affords the Muslims an opportunity to move closer to God as a result of which they became spiritually uplifted. He advised them not to go back to the vices which they have dropped during the Ramadan period.
"I rejoice with the Muslim faithful in Ekiti State and Nigeria in general, on the successful completion of this injunction from Allah which is the fourth pillar of Islam as entrenched in the Holy Quran, Chapter 2:183," Jamiu said. He urged them to extend the same spirit of self-denial and patience exhibited during the month of Ramadan to their daily lives by being honest with their fellow human beings and always stand by the truth.
He enjoined the Muslim faithful to adhere strictly to the moral, political, social, spiritual and ethical lessons of the holy month.
He commended Islamic clerics for their steadfastness in daily prayers for Ekiti State and Nigeria especially concerning insecurity. He expressed optimism that their prayers shall be answered as Almighty Allah in His infinite mercy will give our armed forces victory over criminal elements terrorising our citizens.
Rt. Hon. Hakeem Jamiu
Ex- Deputy Speaker. Member
Representing Irepodun/Ifelodun
