NDC APPEALS COURT JUDGMENT VOIDING ITS REGISTRATION
July 01, 2026
The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has confirmed that it has filed a notice of appeal against the Federal High Court judgment that set aside its registration. The party said it would soon serve the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with the court documents, maintaining that it remains a legally recognised political party.
The party's National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, disclosed that the appeal was successfully filed at the Court of Appeal in Lokoja, Kogi State. He assured members and supporters that there was no cause for alarm, stressing that the NDC remains listed as a registered political party on INEC's portal.
Director also criticised reports suggesting that the party had been deregistered, arguing that the court case primarily challenged the party's logo and not its existence. He urged the party's candidates to remain confident as the legal process continues.
