OONI, OYEBANJI, OPEYEMI BAMIDELE EXPECTED AT EKITI NUJ PUBLIC LECTURE

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji; and Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, are among dignitaries expected at the 2026 Annual Public Lecture and Award Ceremony of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Correspondents’ Chapel, Ekiti State Council.

Other expected guests include the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande; the Oore of Otun-Ekiti, Oba Adeagbo; and the Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority, Oyetunde Ojo.

The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 3, at Abacha Hall, Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, with the Ooni of Ife serving as the Royal Father of the Day.

According to a statement by the chapel’s chairman, Ayodele Adegbuyi, former Senator Ayo Arise will deliver the keynote lecture.

The lecture is themed “Internal Democracy, Good Governance, the Media and Future of Nigerian Democracy.”

The annual event is expected to bring together government officials, traditional rulers, journalists, political leaders and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting democracy, governance and the media in Nigeria.
