The Osun State Government has announced plans to sue the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the freezing of its accounts, describing the action as unlawful and politically motivated.

The state government said the restriction on its accounts has disrupted governance and public service delivery, insisting it will seek legal redress to challenge the action in court.

The EFCC, however, maintains that the account freeze is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct and is not connected to the forthcoming governorship election.
