Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has commended the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ekiti State Wing, for implementing projects aimed at strengthening the union’s financial base and improving the welfare of its members.

Oyebanji, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, gave the commendation on Thursday during the commissioning of the union’s ultra-modern shopping plaza and food canteen in Ado Ekiti.

The event also featured the foundation-laying ceremony for a proposed guest house by the NUT.

The governor said the projects would generate sustainable revenue for the union, create employment opportunities and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ekiti State.

Oyebanji urged the union to sustain initiatives that would improve the welfare of teachers while strengthening its financial independence.
