TERRORISTS KILL VICE PRINCIPAL, TWO OTHERS IN KOGI, ABDUCT THREE WAEC STUDENTS

June 11, 2026

Terrorists have reportedly struck again in Iluke Bunu in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, killing a vice principal and two other persons while abducting three students preparing to sit for the WAEC examination.

The attack comes less than a month after gunmen abducted no fewer than 40 pupils and teachers from schools in Oyo State, raising fresh concerns about school security in the region. The renewed violence has heightened fear among residents and education stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Government has ordered the immediate closure of three secondary schools in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area following intelligence reports of a planned kidnapping attempt targeting students.
