TINUBU SEEKS 90% OF EKITI VOTES IN 2027 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

November 07, 2026

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appealed to voters in Ekiti State to give him at least 90 per cent of the votes in the January 16, 2027 presidential election to secure re-election and continue his administration’s development agenda.

Tinubu made the appeal on Thursday through Vice-President Kashim Shettima at a presidential rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the Ekitiparapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.

The President described his opponents as lacking the political and leadership experience to match his credentials, while insisting that his administration had fulfilled some of the promises made to Ekiti residents ahead of the 2023 election through appointments and development projects.

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who also spoke at the rally, said Tinubu had not disappointed the state over the support it gave him in 2023.

Oyebanji claimed that no Nigerian president had surpassed Tinubu’s achievements in Ekiti since the return to democratic rule in 1999.

Shettima also commended Ekiti voters for re-electing Oyebanji in the June 20 governorship election with 87.5 per cent of the total votes cast, describing the result as evidence of the state’s support for the APC.
