TRUMP SAYS STRAIT OF HORMUZ TO REOPEN FRIDAY UNDER PROPOSED IRAN PEACE DEAL

June 15, 2026

US President Donald Trump has said that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen following a planned Iran peace deal expected to be signed on Friday, a statement that appears to differ from his earlier claim that the key shipping route would be reopened immediately.

Posting on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump said the agreement would “bring peace and security to the whole region,” describing it as a major diplomatic breakthrough aimed at easing tensions.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital global oil shipping channel, and the comments have drawn attention due to their implications for regional stability and international energy supply.
