The Ekiti State Executive Council has approved over N11.78 billion for projects covering healthcare, water supply, road infrastructure, aviation and public safety across the state.

The approvals were made at the council’s seventh meeting of 2026, held on Tuesday, September 22, at the New Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti.

The council approved N6.77 billion for the construction of new hospital buildings at General Hospitals in Ikogosi-Ekiti, Awo-Ekiti and Ipao-Ekiti, while N1.09 billion was approved for road construction in Ado-Ekiti.

It also approved N1.68 billion for the rehabilitation of 104 boreholes into reticulated solar-powered water facilities under the World Bank-supported SURWASH programme, alongside N296.2 million for the purchase of 104 solar water pumps.

Other approvals include N340.6 million for a one-kilometre access road to the CVOR navigation aid site at the Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, N155.35 million for streetlight projects in Afao-Ekiti and Government House, and N448.07 million for office equipment and furniture.

The projects are expected to be completed within periods ranging from three weeks to 12 months, depending on the nature of each intervention.
