The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to attract German technology and investment into Nigeria’s steel industry, focusing on mineral processing, equipment manufacturing, technology transfer and the development of local industrial value chains.

The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Audu, disclosed this when he received a delegation of German Original Equipment Manufacturers, OEMs, led by the Head of VDMA-German OEMs, Chux Onaa, in Abuja.

Audu said the engagement was aimed at turning previous discussions between Nigeria and Germany into concrete investment and industrial partnerships.

He recalled that both countries had explored opportunities in steel development, mining, mineral processing, engineering and technology transfer during the 9th German-African Economic Forum in Dortmund.

The minister said the delegation’s visit reflected growing German interest in Nigeria’s industrial sector and could help strengthen cooperation in technology, investment and local industrial development.
